Toodyay Road will undergo $7 million worth of upgrades, with 3.5 kilometres of reconstruction works around Jingaling Brook and two kilometres of widening works at Harper Brook. Audible edge lines and a one-metre wide centreline treatment will be installed to reduce head-on crashes, while a westbound overtaking lane will also be constructed approximately 14 km outside Toodyay, with work expected to commence before the end of the year.
Funding was also announced for widening and audible edge lines on the – Northam Toodyay Road, with work expected to commence at the end of August.

RoadWise is a program of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA). Founded in 1994, it works with Local Government to support the implementation of the Towards Zero Road Safety Program
Toodyay Roadwise meets on a regular basis to develop road safety programs and look at issues within the Shire of Toodyay.
Achievements have included the advocacy and introduction of a 40km speed zone in the Toodyay shopping precinct.
Toodyay RoadWise also participates in the Moondyne Festival, the Toodyay Agricultural Show and the Toodyay Street Party, where they highlight the risks on our roads with a 'CRASH TRAILER'

REPORT ROAD SIGN ISSUES

If you see any issues with road signs (blown over, facing wrong way, etc.) they need to be reported. For local roads report the issue to the Shire; for Main Roads telephone 138 138 immediately. Your report may save a life!

IMPROVE YOUR VEHICLE SECURITY

FREE ANTI-THEFT SCREWS FITTING DAY

The theft of registration or number plates can result in significant inconvenience for the vehicle owner when the plates are used to commit further offences, including petrol drive-offs, driving offences and camera detected offences.
To assist local community members to properly secure their number plates Police will be holding an event at the new Bunnings Warehouse Northam, located on the corner of Oliver Street and Peel Terrace, Northam.
Bring your vehicle to the Bunnings car park on Saturday 5th December 2020 between 9.00am and 2.00pm

Main Roads WA have received funding for the upgrade of Toodyay Road in the Shire of Toodyay. Work has commenced on the first section, from Racecourse Road through to Clackline Road.
